The day after Thanksgiving each year we spend the whole day decorating our house top-to-bottom with our Christmas tree, garland, wreaths, and the outside house Christmas lights, then when we finish that evening we bake cookies, make hot chocolate, snuggle up and watch Christmas Vacation. It’s our way of kicking off the Christmas Season :-)

Mavis Staples really did her thing with this track for the movie. Just right for it, for the opening titles and end titles. One of best Christmas songs for one of the best Christmas movies ever.

I’m 20, and I have memories of watching Christmas Vacation and Home Alone as early as 2003-04. My grandmother even had the same Taurus station wagon in baby blue, so watching the scene with the log truck always makes me light up and think back! I watched the original Vacation later on in my early teen years, and though I must say I enjoy that film even MORE, Christmas Vacation will always be a classic and I can’t wait for my children to watch this one day!!

Heard this song on the radio today which I have never heard on the radio before. I had to come here and listen to it to get my holiday spirit ready. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies. I can't wait to watch the movie this weekend and the next few days.
