The first expansion takes some chances to put Kerrigan and the zerg front and center.

I just realized how much IGN spoiled HoTS in this review. If you played WoL, but not HoTS, don't watch this review.

Honestly, I don't mind that the score wasn't high or anything, but this was such a dull and boring review.

Thanks for spoiling the story - even though you are right, it's just bad review style

I love how he literally spoils the entire game in the first minute of this review. Yes, you are going to learn a bit about a game in a review. But you don't expect the entire plot laid out for you start to finish.

it amazes me what people don't understand what a review is its their opinion for good sakes if you don't agree the you don't. but if you have to rage about it... then at least make it a constructive argument

Tell me about it. I was just thinking the same damn thing. Here I was all excited for it. And I've never played Warcraft 3, so it would still be new to me. He literally laid out the whole story in the first minute without any spoiler warning whatsoever.

Cliche heavy story? as a negative point...
good job no call of duty game that gets stupidly high scores by IGN never have that then...

When you have franchises such as Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo I don't think they want to risk too much in changing them too much.

Keeping it "old" as you say is exactly what most players want, especially in Starcraft's case.

This guy knows that Karrigan was human before right? I mean, was it space magic that transformed her into a zerg? It's been a main plot piece since the original Star Craft, it's no more space magic than any of the other crap that's in this game.

IGN is like the fox news of gaming lol

he basically only described the start of the game, the only difference is that is mentioned the obvious "twist" that raynor is still alive. He didn't even bring up the primal zerg, or anything of the sort

All of the StarCraft games are crazy awsome!!! And Diablo, Blizzard is DO-IN IT!!!

Point taken, however that doesn't validate the fact that he spoil the story and never actually addressed the sometimes ridiculous evolution missions and upgrades the zerg can get in the late game that turned the last few missions into utter cake walks. And people will always remember this as IGN's review not Dan Stapleton's review.

Dude you didn't even mention at all about the multiplayer part of the game? It's like the most important part of the game dude. Seriously.

God Of War: Ascension - 7.8
StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm - 8.6

I don't wanna live in this planet anymore

I do have to disagree with the reviewer here. The Heart of The Swarm campaign is phenomenal. They hardly do a thing wrong. Games nowadays have a campaign that will last 8 hours top IF you take things slow. Heart of The Swarm manages to squeeze double that time if you rush things and for an expansion that is more than you can hope for. I found the characters compelling and wanting to know what happens next. My only complaint is that Protoss said 'hi' for a mission or two and went (somewhere).

I don't think the "Boss fights" were really meant to be boss fights... especially since 4 out 5 of them were all in the same mission.

The title is "IGN Reviews : StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Video Review" not "IGN Reviews : StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty" Video Review". So it doesn't matter what Wings was like for this review.
