If you cut like this, you can't print optimally in most cases. E. g. too much support needed. Too much angles above 60°. Shitty surface for support.

I did this sometimes at the beginning (lazy), but it's not wise doing it like that. It's not just a waste of material, but also decreasing the quality of the print.
