I worked in a pawn shop for three years. Most of this stuff will never fetch the value that it "could". For the high value items (rare, collectible, etc) these people will have to either sit on these and invest time/money searching for buyers or sell for much less than what they "could". Obviously, "could" being the key word. The people on these shows act as though their assessments are spot on... they aren't, lol. It's acting.
