Lots of people work very hard and are poor their whole lives.

That's an old school mentality that doesn't really exist anymore. You can do well and still be ignored

Theo is speaking from a wealth of no experience. Beautiful.

Survival bias. Hard work requires a little or a lot of luck to be noticed by the right people, depending on the circumstances.

Hard work is always noticed but usually it just gets exploited

Do you think Caleb would be where he is rn, if he kept his 9-5 and hope someone would see his potential?

Theo von was on reality shows in his 20s and went to lsu and has genuinely no idea what he’s talking about when it comes to workers

Literally me. I worked in a super market. Was nice to all my costumers. And got like 4 job offers from my costumers. Anything from 1.33x to 2x more then what I was making an hour up to that point.

Been a painter for 20 years now. I’ve learned every facet of painting. I do exterior, interior, enamel, wall repair, sheetrocking, mudding. Ect. We painters get headhunted constantly, and I gotta say. Most of the time people latch onto your work ethic to use you and toss you. And it’s the kind of job that you have to prove yourself with every new gig. I don’t think life works that way. Ain’t nobody offering a barista 80k a year.

I worked at CVS, worked hard and went out of my way to help a guy get some stuff and help him with photos. He liked me and gave me his business card and I started a job at his construction company and worked my way up a 6 figure salary working field operations.

Probably not the case with most people but you’d be surprised what a positive attitude and hard work can do.

It's multifaceted: hard work is usually noticed (and sometimes it's exploited) but in a well *functioning* organization it will be rewarded. Depending on your field though, learn as much as you can and then leverage that knowledge to the next higher paying position you apply for

These guys spitting facts. I was a barista making minimum wage and was offered a job as CEO of Exxon for multi millions due to work ethic. Keep on grinding in minimum wage jobs, folks. The dream can happen!

I love it when the people who got recognized for working hard, think they must’ve ever been the only people that ever worked hard

Almost nobody gets a leg up like that.
