Introducing Corel VideoStudio 2018

I've actually been using version 7 and still pretty happy with it, but this does look pretty good. Might be the time to upgrade. Really like the split screen option. Did you guys make this video with VideoStudio 2018? At one point in the video I'm seeing 9 tracks. Can it do that?

I've had Ulead 9 and 10, and Corel VS 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and now 2018. Without a doubt, and I do mean, WITHOUT A DOUBT, there are more problems with each new version. I bought 10 thinking it would resolve the issues with 9, but no. I bought 2018 because 10 was so much worse than 9, that maybe they got enough feedback from the all the problems that they would have spent time on correcting those, but, alas, it was not to be. Well, sort of. Yes, the 10-20 minute crash intervals were significantly reduced, but there are now more frustrating issues to contend with.
You can have a complete, issue free, glitch free editing experience if you go back to Version 6 on an XP Pro machine. (But not on XP Home) In Version 7, when they finally started enabling the use of multiple cores, the crashing issues began. So even though it was supposed to enable the use of more processing power, it seems to have had the opposite effect. In 8, they were unresolved and more frequent, even when moving from my XP to the WIn 7 machine. In 9, it began asking for the aspect ratio when you began a new project. Something that in previous versions was defaulted to the native format of the first clip placed in the timeline. Crash, crash, crash, crash, crash when editing audio, which, by the way is the largest source of crashing in all versions I have used, as I rely heavily on waveforms for editing. In 10, GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! It MIGHT ask you for the aspect ratio, but it might not. It might use the native file aspect ratio, but it might not. It might use 16:9 for the first 3 clips and 4:3 for the 4th clip. Ooop! CRASH! Restart. Reset the aspect ratio, which, by the way you have no ability to change in your preferences. Nearly double the crashing of VS9. Freezes while rendering, which was a common issue in either 7 or 8, I can't remember anymore. Audio will be cut off the first few frames of the beginning of the clip and added to the last few frames of the clip in the rendered file. If you check the clip in the timeline of the editor, you won't find any issues, but once you render the project, there it is again. You now have to try several different file types until you have one that doesn't glitch on you. Sometimes it will swap video frames as well, but not often, and then only one or two, but still enough to make you go waste more time chasing issues.
Now on with 2018. Same aspect ratio issue as 10, only worse, in that it will show a 16:9 throughout the timeline for each clip, but will render part in 16:9 and part in 4:3. It might ask you in the beginning, it might not. It will NOT render in the native file format, (ACVHD) nor would it render in AVI or WMV. MOV files were horribly pixellated. The only file it would render in is MPEG2, and then you have to watch it carefully for all the glitches like dropped or repeated frames. I also have rendering issues where the audio starts in sync, but by the end of a 13 minute video the audio was off by over 3 seconds. That's BAD! I mean, truly BAD!
I run 2 monitors and keep my playback on the left screen. Go from video to audio view? Layout changes. Go from audio to video? Layout changes. Previous versions did not do this.
I've already been down the "It's your computer" road. Several times. I even bought another machine with Win 10 and tried that with all the same issues. Interestingly, while editing, the program (and machine) is only using 25% of the 4 core processor (Equally divided) and 20% of the 16G RAM, while the read/write on the SSD is pegged. My cooling fans never come up above an idle, so processing is not an issue.
Forget Corel support. It doesn't exist. You are on your own, aside from the Forum, which is comprised of end users. I will say that there are 3 top members who do their utmost to try to help you, but in the end, they can't solve these issues either. To these men I raise my hat. Not only do they try to resolve your issues, they do it for free.
In the end, I've started referring to VS 2019 as "GlitchWorks 2018". I doubt anybody of authority at Corel will ever read this, because I don't think they actually care about the product quality as much as they do short term sales. ( I'm not sure, but I think Dilbert works there!) It's a shame, too. They have something that could be a top prosumer product because of its ease of use, as far as being intuitive goes. I don't like having to grab the razor tool to make a cut. I like Corel. Just hit "S". I like audio mix on the fly with just one click. I like the straight forward library layout. I like the no-nonsense way of changing the layout and saving it. No, I DON'T want to re-learn another program, but what good are all the things I like when it takes me 4 times longer to edit and I have to render something 6 times before it does it correctly?

Perhaps somewhere in the "great beyond the cubicle" exist a one who will come to the stark realization that if they spend more time resolving known issues that trying to create something "new", that people will be more apt to buy the product. Most Corel users I know buy the next version because, "Maybe they fixed it" and not because they have a solid, stable program that now offers multi cam, 4K or 4 more free effects. We're also the people who won't buy the next one or recommend it to anybody. (In fact, if you have never edited video, don't get Corel.) Count your days, Corel VS programmers. Davinci Resolve is going to put you out of a job. No, I don't have it and no, I don't want to re-learn another program, but re-learn I will if I have to render and watch a video 6 times all the way through before I can post it.

Is Boris Tittle Studio Pro5 and NewBlue Tittle Studio actually included in the whole installation package? I've installed, and resinstalled the software many different times and for some reason these two do not display under the FX Section of Video Studio. Please advice.

BTW. Here just a loyal fan and user of Corel Video Studio since the begining of times. Keep up the good work, love the new video editing add-ons. :)

Can Corel or another user explain what the HTML5 project is for and how to use it? There seems to be little or no documentation on this. If I am creating videos for YouTube or embed on a website there does not seem to be a need for this.... Corel can you create a tutorial or documentation for this?

Every software on Earth, including other Corel products, except VideoStudio do allow for typing text (title) in Right-to-Left languages like Farsi and Arabic. I have been using different versions of VideoStudio for several years up to 2018 Unlimited. To work around this problem requires many more steps with less satisfactory result. In short, very disappointed Corel! You have this worked out perfectly in Draw and Paint programs, how difficult is it to make it work with VideoStudio?!!
