I live in Australia. We talked about this at work. Our local main stream media seem to go out of their way to really emphasize the weather conditions. We notice the word extreme comes up a lot in their warnings, only the weather that's supposed to be coming, never does. Same in NZ they stopped mining coal, (we have a lot of it) and lately we have power shortages and import inferior quality coal to generate power.

On 27th January 2023, Jeremy Hunt was boasting that wind power had provided 80% of our electricity. A closer look revealed it was only for half an hour, between 6:00 and 6:30 am, when most people were still asleep. Wind power is unreliable and far from environmentally friendly, especially with the constant maintenance required at sea, carried out by diesel powered boats. Renewables simply cannot meet our baseload energy needs, only coal, gas, oil, and nuclear can, yet these industries have been attacked for decades by Labour, the Tories, and the Lib-Dems. We're now paying the price for these shortsighted policies and unsightly windmills blighting the countryside and that will cause loss of life at sea as it is highly likely to lead to collisions with shipping.

Energy is the backbone of any economy. Without reliable energy sources like coal, gas, oil, and nuclear, a country’s economy will collapse. Renewables aren't up to the task.

There’s no solid proof that anthropogenic global warming is real, let alone a threat. The so-called “consensus” comes from a small group of scientists, many funded by governments and NGOs. Climate change has become a globalist money grab, an attempt to redistribute wealth on a massive scale, essentially Socialism, which has failed every time it's been tried, always with disastrous consequences.

The UK must regain energy independence, and the only way to do that is by embracing nuclear power and fossil fuels. This would free us from dependence on hostile regimes like Putin’s Russia, or Macron's France. Labour, more obsessed with Net Zero than even the Tories, is pushing the country towards economic disaster. You can’t grow an economy under the crushing weight of centralised planning (Socialism). History proves it always ends in failure.

Neil only 0.05% of the atmosphere is carbon!!! With a mere 0.01% increase over the last 100 years. If it dropped to 0.03%, all plant life and much of the animal life on Earth would die. That includes us! The climate change narrative is a scam, a classic money grab. The changes we’re seeing are due to natural cycles, not human activity.

BP invented the term "Carbon Footprint" and turned it into a campaign as part of a Public Relations move after the Deep Water Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, a brilliant diversion that shifted the blame for pollution onto the public, letting them off the hook! Climate Change is a big fat lie perpetuated by corrupt politicians attempting a money grab, as well as by corrupt corporations making up lies to get themselves off the hook for pollution they caused not us.

The narrative around SMART meters is that it would help individuals to see how much energy they are using, but in fact, it's about 'demand management'. That is, disconnecting your electricity if there is insufficient generation capacity to supply demand.

Electricity spikes? EVs are down in sales, according to more than one source. The people are choosing not to buy an EV but petrol or diesel instead.

I've worked in the nuclear power industry for over 40 years. Nuclear is absolutely the lowest source of carbon emissions, including construction of the plants, because of the enormous amount of electricity generated per unit that requres very little carbon input (mostly from the mining and processing of the fuel).

Most people don't have a clue, how this is going to affect them in their daily lives. When the Electricity goes off, forget your central heating, Fridge, freezer, cooker, any lights, sockets. When your electricity turns back on, ( if it ever does) it could spike your central heating boiler PCB £400/900 repair bill depending on make, could take months as engineers would be snowed under (literally). If it's freezing outside, busted pipes etc. Starmer knew this could be a v/cold Winter, see the old buggers off, hey? Got to get that carbon down, aren't we carbon?

Don't take my word for it, ask the Irish some years back. Their energy minister had to resign, as their underground water pipes burst due to freezing conditions. Water bowsers had to deliver drinking water, to customers.
