we relax and take our time here but here's the main idea: you can solve them like you would with a regular equal sign (=) and preserve the inequality, but any time you *multiply* or *divide* by a negative number you flip the direction of the inequality sign (> to < for example). rest well, dears!

I never could understand adding/subtracting negative/positive numbers, until one professor explained it pretty well. She told the class, imagine negative number is your bank account balance, so if you have -7 you are overdrawn 7 dollars, if you use your card to buy something you're going farther away from 0, meaning you get gas for 10 dollars, -7 - 10 you're now at -17. We need to reach that back to 0, and to make your account balance to positive, you add +20 to your -17 balance to pay off the overdrawn balance and your new balance is 3 dollars. After she finished explaining, it clicked for me *shrugs*
