Also i have had that very situation occur but for me is was 4H switching back to 2wd .... happened 3 times on Mosquito pass ..tried making it happen the next day and it never to believe it wasn't fully in 4H considering i had been in in for 5 miles with some decent pitches ...Would love to see a JT meetup set of rides like this in 2022!
