National Patent Application Draft Competition teams learn keyword & classification search techniques

Watch this training session to learn about both key word and classification searching for preparing and filing a patent application.

This important skill is used in the National Patent Application Drafting Competition (NPADC) which is a team competition that introduces law students to U.S. patent laws and regulations, and helps them develop patent application drafting skills.

The competing teams are judged factors such as describing the invention, developing a prior art search strategy and identifying relevant references, determining patentable subject matter, and constructing claims.
