On the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, the Church gives us Acts 10 as the second reading -- presumably because it teaches us about baptism in the early Church.

Dr. Brant Pitre will show how this passage shows the necessity of baptism, and that God intended it not just for Israel, but for the Gentiles.

I ALWAYS look forward to your reflections, Dr. Pitre. I wish I could get more of your books as I have read only two of them. My Parish bookshop (in Nigeria) doesn't have more and I hope they do.

*Attention Dear Catholic Production* blessed having Dr. Brant Pitre! Do you use Video Tags? Please use them. As this channel deserves millions of views... In years of research I found no one who SLOWLY explains everything in detail! Makes perfect sense! And his explanation is Brilliant!
You do promotion to increase view, I believe all people especially Christians need to understand scripture in the what Dr. Brant explains... So I want your videos to be viewed... *Even I am creating views for this channel!* 😊 Because I love it!
Promotions can help this channel get millions of views! Many people don't know about this channel and don't think there is good explanation as videos of this channel don't get as many views as others...
I as a researcher who studied Bible, looked for this kind of explanation!
Many Christians are losing their faith! They need to hear the meaning of the word! Without the meaning their faith becomes weak!
Many would love to see your videos!
Thanks such a blessing!

That makes sense that it would be St. Peter that opens the doors for the gentiles because he is the vicar of Christ and holds the keys to the kingdom, whatever he binds in earth will be bound in heaven. Amen!

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

What point is there to ask for forgiveness if Christ died for your sins?

By the way, did you know that Apostle Peter (supposedly, the first Pope of Roman Catholic church) was married and this fact is recorded in 3 gospels?
Matthew 8:14–15, Mark 1:29–31, and Luke 4:38–41
Interesting uh?

Many have believed that the apostles/disciples having the holy spirit were given all knowledge & their writings always straight from God, but as we look into them deeply, we see that they didn't know everything, God was only showing them what he wanted of them. Therefore we shouldn't take every well meaning opinion of Paul & such as God's word. Many will follow Paul's words over what Jesus had already established, yet Jesus is the real teacher & his words are the way. Study carefully & seek your own guidance from his holy spirit.

Well obviously, otherwise even if that were the case, the First Commandment is being violated by them and they are in sin anyway.

I never knew one received of the Holy Spirit or Ghost first and then can be baptized. It makes sense thinking about it but what happens then at baptism that is different than receiving of the Holy Spirit?

Acts 10:44-47 KJVS
[44] While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. [45] And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. [46] For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, [47] Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
The blessing of Abraham is receiving the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 3:14 KJVS
[14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Which turns one away from their iniquities.
Acts 3:25-26 KJVS
[25] Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. [26] Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
