‘Toaca este un instrument muzical de percuție folosit în liturgica Ortodoxă.
A fost documentată în Creștinism încă din secolul al IV-lea, înainte de apariția clopotului tradițional.
Toaca este o rugăciune adusă lui Dumnezeu, marcând trecerea de la timpul cotidian la timpul liturgic.
Bătută la diverse ore, toaca cheamă la rugăciune și slujbă.
Cântecul Toacei face legătura între pământ și Cer, între uman și divin, între ceea ce se cunoaște și ceea ce nu se cunoaște.
Simbolistica lemnului este legată de lemnul Crucii.
“Toaca se dezvăluie ca o chemare vie la rugăciune, dar și ca un cântec de durere și de bucurie, vestind odată cu baterea cuielor Crucii, imnul pascal de Înviere.” -Părintele Constantin Galeriu.
La prima bătaie de toacă începe și prima bătaie a inimii noastre pentru Mântuitorul Iisus Hristos.

‘‘Toaca’ is a percussion musical instrument used in Orthodox liturgical services.
It was documented to have appeared in Christianity during the 4th century, before the traditional bell.
Toaca is a prayer raised to God, marking the transition from daily life, to liturgical time.
Stroked at different hours, Toaca calls for prayer and church service.
The song of Toaca connects the Earth and the Heaven, the human and the divine, what is known and what is unknown.
The symbolism of the wood reminds us of the wood of the Cross.
“Toaca is a living call to prayer, as well as a song of pain and joy, proclaiming with the piercing of the nails on the Cross, the easter hymn of the Resurrection.” -Father Constantin Galeriu
Once with the first strike of the Toaca, commences the first beat of our heart for our Savior Jesus Christ.
When the Christian hits the wood of the Toaca with the wooden hammer, he is indebted to pray within himself: “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, the sinner.”’
