Ha-ha Ms. Sissel; you are so ADORABLE and humorous!!!  "One hundred and twenty thousand rules" in baseball!  I know baseball, but I am a much bigger fan of our (American) football.  I think baseball has only 110, 000 rules; lol!  All you really need to know is to hit the ball with the bat and run counter-clockwise around the 4 bases to score a run.  You must do this before the other team can touch you with the baseball in their glove.  If that happens, then you are "out" and must go sit down!

I have known about you for several years and adore everything you do.  Every decade you seem to get more beautiful, not just in your Nordic lovely face, but in your heart and mind and soul.  I just read that you will be in Utah next month, but that looks like your last stop in America.  I am in Nebraska, just 2 states to the east.  I would love for my wife Lenore and I to meet you someday.  Have you been in America all summer?  Will you be back to the USA anytime soon?  You truly seem to be a lovely and loving woman, dear Sissel.
Love from Michael in Omaha

P.S.  I would love to live in Europe; maybe in my ancestral Fatherland of Poland, or in my ancestral Motherland of Sweden!

Playing softball as a kid, my favourite position was left field. Seemed that was where the action was since most batters were right-handed. Right field to me was a dead zone. Infield was too snappy, too quick. I couldn't pitch & didn't like the idea of being a catcher, standing right behind the batter with the bat swinging about 2 inches from my nose. I saw a catcher, one day, get hit between the legs. Poor guy passed out. I liked to chase the long lazy fly balls & got pretty good at it.

Sometimes the meaning...you’re out in left field means you don’t know what your talking about. Or your nuts. Or you haven’t got them all. And both of those are slang too. It truly means your not right in the brain. You are right, it’s slang. But maybe from the 60’s. I have heard it used in a very long time....but I’m 74. You did a good job. I enjoyed you trying to explain it. Real cute.
