I always thought this scene looked familiar. Just found out it was shot 10 minutes from me in downtown Lake Forest, IL. Cool to think that Danny and Tess moved to the Chicago area :)

For many years I thought "why would Danny and Tess speak in coded language over the phone?", and just concluded that it was Steven Soderbergh's peculiar style of writing, which is very prominent in this trilogy (another example would be the Matsui scene)


But then it came up to me all of the sudden (again, after years and years of rewatching tje movie): "Hey, what if their phone was tapped?", so yeah, they couldn't be talking like they would face to face because saying something like "Danny, Terry just showed up at our doorstep" would be like giving away that he is involved in the theft and the cops would immediately be the next to appear at their house.

1st Thats a lot of money. lol In the end all the money is returned to who it rightfully belonged to. All of it. No one had to go to prison. No one got hurt. In the end the right thing was done. Thats all it is.
