INSTANTLY Improve Game Sense Through Better DECISION MAKING in Valorant (In-Depth Guide)

Hey guys! Here's a guide on how to make better decisions and improve game sense. This is basically the general framework of how I make decisions so I hope you find it helpful. :)

You can have the best aim in Valorant, but still not make it past the lower ranks. In my opinion, game sense and decision making are just as important as having good aim. Sometimes, it might even be more important, as someone with good game sense will be able to put themselves in favorable situations that might not need good aim to begin with. In this video, I'm going to teach you how to make better decisions and improve your game sense in Valorant.

Your last point with peeking the OP is what everyone needs to hear. Thinking "this is good because it worked" is probably one of the most common reasons why players take unfavorable fights in lower ranks.

I had an example the other day where my team had an enemy Reyna stuck on B site Ascent in a 2v1. We had Killjoy and Reyna alive in market and we knew the bomb was either in the enemy's hands or somewhere in lane. Killjoy saw our Reyna rotate around mid to go for a flank around B main (1st mistake: Reyna leaves teammate, giving an isolated 1v1 opportunity and doesn't communicate his rotation). I let Killjoy know he was going around so he had to wait in market in case he didn't see it on the map. (2nd mistake: Killjoy completely DonoWalls me and pushes stairs to give the enemy Reyna the 1v1 that she needed for the clutch.) Then, our Reyna is left on a 1v1 where the enemy is planting the bomb and she has a chance to walk up lane and kill her. (3rd mistake: Reyna committed to an unexpected flank wasting a lot of time and then decided to completely give away her win condition by making noise as she run up lane.) Then the enemy Reyna just won the duel off the information.

Funny thing is that even if Killjoy made a mistake she completely put the blame on the reyna. Something I've realized is people don't adapt to mistakes their teammates make. If your teammate does something bad, you shouldn't stick to whatever you planned to do and then blame your teammate, you should try to make up for that mistake in some way. (In the example I gave the Killjoy had to adapt to that mistake by hiding and giving Reyna enough time for the flank. Instead, she stuck to the plan of walking out towards site together, but this time she was by herself).

I for sure know I have made this type of mistake, where I just expect my team to do something but I obviously shouldn't
idk why I wrote all this i gotta get back to work

I just realized how poor my decision making is since I'm usually depending on my luck and aim, but sometimes I'm not aware of the control I'm losing by my poor decision making. Thank you for help and pointing that out, now i can focus more on what i really wanna do and why + what's the cost of my decision! Thank you so much man

Hey, I have a video suggestion. If you haven't already, can you make a video about common and/or advanced game sense mistakes? For example, not checking if sage is on the wall when peeking a short on bind (just a simple example I got right off of my head)

Im just hop into FPS genre. Train with aimlab to speeding up improving my aim, ended up in master league after 60hours of aimlab. But still Im stuck in silver 3 in Valorant.

I hope this video can help me to rank up better.

I like how similar a lot of these concepts are to reinforcement learning which I've just gotten into. Really cool parallels and it's interesting how as we train agents (on computers), we can also derive some tactics or strategies from the way they learn and make decisions, like in the case of alphazero learning to play chess better than us because it didn't learn with prior human knowledge

These tips are really great for low elo, Low elo players usually tend to spend all their creds not thinking about eco so if you use close range weapons effectively you'd be able to turn their eco upside down

Thanks! I just realized I have decent game sens 'cuz some of these are what I literally do per match, specifically the Tendencies, Ability usage, and targeting whoever's at the bottom frags.. yet I still have poor aim specially on Long ranges cuz idk I feel shakey whenever I duel within more than 15m and I will try to improve those before officially starting ranked games. Currently Unranked and will start spamming rank games as soon as I hit good x-hair placement and angles. Underrated Youtuber as well lol
