Fat Phobic Nature. Before hiking this trail there is a warning sign that states if you have difficulties passing through the 2 posts you should not continue, people have been calling nature fat-phobic and that it should be widened for plus-sized people, but the sign is warning people that the canyon is very narrow and avoiding anyone getting harmed. what do you think?

As a fat person, that sign is the OPPOSITE of fatphobic. If a fat person goes there and gets stuck, imagine the amount of resources and time required to save them. And that is if they don't die of feeling claustrophobic first.

This sign is also fantastic for claustrophobic people such as myself. Thank you to the sign maker for warning just how hyperventilatingly narrow that hike is.

As someone fat, this is the opposite of fatphobic! :] It considers bigger or stockier bodytypes and how the trail might be unsafe for them, and adds a clear way to check if youre okay to go!

EDIT: Don't use my comment as an excuse to argue that fatphobia doesnt exist or that most fat people are dramatic compared to me :/ Fat people *can* experience things like not being as properly looked at by doctors, encouraged into unsafe diets or eating disorders, and in younger years, bullying. Weight gain also isnt always caused by a bad lifestyle. It can be caused by health issues, genetics, metabolism, and even stuff such as poverty can contribute to it.

As a paranoid midsize gal I'd much appreciated something like this. Infinitely less embarrassing to realize you can't fit through the posts then to get stuck in the Canyon. On the flip side you know how narrow it is so people won't worry it will have a narrower pass coming up. To warn people before getting to the narrow(est) point is far more considerate.

As a big person, myself, I absolutely appreciate that sign. I don't have time to get stuck in between rocks that have been there for hundreds of years.
