Our first vlog. Flight from South Africa to Zurich, Switzerland. We ended up walking around Zurich on our first day.
The lounges:
- South Africa - Shongololo
We give this lounge a 6/10 rating, the food was average.
- Dubai - Marhaba
We give this lounge a 3/10 rating, the food wasn’t great at all, and the front desk lady was super rude to the guys in front of us. We definitely don’t recommend this lounge as your first choice.
Accommodation:
We stayed at the Easy Hotel in Limmatplatz. A very basic hotel that is quite close to supermarkets and restaurants.
We wanted to stay at the Easy Hotel in the City Centre but by the time we arrived, they were already fully booked.
One night accommodation cost: 80 Euros.
At this easy hotel, they also had free lockers that you could use. Very convenient if you are catching a late bus out and want to explore the city without dragging your bags around all day :). This was a lifesaver.
Transportation:
Airport to City Centre
You can either catch a bus, tram or train to the city from the airport. All forms of transport cost the same. The tram takes 45 min as this goes along a scenic route and the train takes 10 minutes.
We ended up taking the train as we didn’t have much time to spend in Zurich.
Ticket cost: 5.6 Euros pp.
Tip: Validate your ticket in the orange boxes downstairs otherwise you will get fined if you are caught with an unvalidated ticket.
We got our tickets at the Service Centre upstairs, but you can also get them downstairs by the self-service ticket stations.
First Vlog Experience:
It was harder than we expected… lol. But it was a lot more fun than we thought it would be. It is weird at first to stare at your camera but you get used to it quite fast.
The editing is the tough part as we had so many random clips lol. We just weren’t sure what we had to film…lol. Overall we made it through. The audio/video quality isn’t where we wanted it to be but we hope you enjoy/enjoyed it.
