2022 Oct 20, Thurs - Our last day in Florence, Italy, was perfect for hiking the Florentine Hills. The sun was bright and shining. We headed south of the Arno River to Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset. We passed the Ponte Vecchio, strolled along the riverside Lungarno Torrigiani walkway, then made our way through the neighborhood on Via de' Bardi until we reached Via del Monte alle Croci, a panoramic street lined with trees. We climbed the staircase to Basilica di San Miniato and Porte Sante Cemetery. A few steps away, we finally reached Piazzale Michelangelo, the square where one can sit, relax, and watch the sunset show for free. The sun falling over the city of Florence, casting a golden hue as if someone had sprinkled gold dust all over the city, was simply magical. It was certainly an unforgettable experience not to be missed.

Wonderful video of Florence! 👍👍We should revisit the town, it's too long ago, we hardly remember. The nearly black-white of the graveyard sequence is a great idea and creates the right atmosphere. 😊😊🐷
