I just got mine, it's absolutely fantastic.
I live in a dorm, it's big, and many tech students live here. Sooo they try to hack everything they can. Wi-Fi here is included, but only in cable. So everybody has their own router. The ethernet is fast. So i needed a router that was very safe, and also could handle the fast ethernet. And last but not least it needed to have a small range, since my dorm is small and i dont want to have it interupt with other routers.
So this is perfect, i have it on 5G with low TX. Perfect recepetion in my dorm, just not in the neighbors dorm;-)

Thanks for the great review
I just got mine and the main reason is to be able to setup a wireless network in a hotel so I can protect my data when my wife and I travel. It also allows me to cast my pay tv app to a chromecast and watch our regular shows when we are away from home for several weeks at a time.

I use the Beryl AX as a backup, when cable Internet is down.

I set my cell phone up as a hotspot, the Beryl connects to the hotspot, and I connect the Beryl's LAN port to my home router's WAN port. Everything's back online!

I work for a Fortune 500 company and live in Mexico. I use this product with VPN to hide my location.

Thanks for the really comprehensive review. Have checked out other units but you review sold me on the GL.iNet Beryl AX3000 as a traveller’s router. Results are great. Appreciate your work on the channel.😊

Thanks for the awesome review and walkthrough!
If my main purpose to get this type of router is to set up a dedicated VPN server at home (assume Wireguard will be faster as a VPN server too), which would you recommend between the new Beryl AX and Slate AX? Or would you have any others in mind?
I am after the speed and stability as the VPN server.

Probably the best most indepth Beryl Ax video I've seen with great use cases! The thing I still don't know how to do is log in to a captive portal, like in a hotel, when you have to visit that unsecure page where you enter your last name and room number before you can access the internet...maybe entering the creds in the router GUI is enough, but I just don't have personal experience with it. Does it have to be in VPN client mode, or can you do it in normal repeater mode with VPN server instead?

1. Have you tried to make hotspot using iPhone? 2. Is it possible at same time connect this router to mobile hotspot and connect other devices to wifi, shared this router?

Hello, I have Cisco Any connect and it does not allow me use outside the U.S. as it restricts my connection while overseas. In addition to that I also have Microsoft Teams and Outlook that I need to connect to however it is restricted when I travel outside the U.S. If I use this devise will I be able to use these applications overseas ? I Connect thru VPN when I have to log on to my work computer.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Thanks for the video.. Would you recommend this over the GL-AXT1800 (Slate AX)? I have seen positives and negatives for both routers.

Thank you for this great video! I have a question regarding the VPN: I would like to set up a HTTP Proxy and connect it to a VPN. I read that it’s possible with the gl.inet but I would like to have different IP addresses for different phones connected to the router.

My questions are:
1) will it be possible to switch the IPs without a big hustle in-between connecting the phones?
2) do you think social media platforms like TikTok should be able to detect that it’s a VPN or will it be safe since the VPN isn’t on the actual mobile device but on a router?
I hope you can share your thoughts on these-would appreciate it a lot 🙏🙏

What about network's that require you to tap something on a website to connect to their wifi?

*lets say you travel to locations around the world with open Wi-Fi and you visit these same locations*

*Is there a way that it can automatically connect without having to put the credentials in?*

I like to do PCVR on the go but in order for it to work my PC has to have Internet and be wired (preferably) to the wireless router.

Could I use something like this for that purpose when I'm away from home?

My idea;
Setup my desktop in my hotel, LAN into the desktop. Could the router pull signal to give my desktop Internet while providing a WAP for my VR headset to tap onto so my PC can stream to it?
