PrimeOS For The Raspberry Pi4! An Awesome Android Desktop OS! Like DEX For Your Pi

In this video, we take a look at Prime OS for the RaspberryPi 4! I also show you how to install and set up PrimeOS on the Pi. This is an android 11 based desktop-style Operating system for the Raspberry pi, It comes with google play installed and so far it's been working very well. We test some native android games and emulation in this video also.

That brings back memories. In the mid '80s, I worked for Prime Computers, a multinational Minicomputer Vendor. By mini I mean smaller than a mainframe and before IBM x86 PCs were common.
The Prime computer’s operating system was named PRIMOS. After successes in small to medium sized commercial and government environments, and in communications, they were eventually wiped out by a hostile takeover and the arrival of PCs. A great success when introduced, but rendered obsolete by the march of progress.

THIS! This is the style of Android that all of the thousands of "Android TV Box" units should be using. Looked like there may have been some UI animation glitches though. Like when you were going in and out of "full-screen" with the apps/windows it appeared like it was leaving trails. Of course I guess that could have just been a video capture issue. You should try installing this on a decent AndroidTV box

Performance as governor locks the cpu cores at maximum frequency.
This obviously gives the best performance, but sacrifices the efficiency.

Ondemand is generally the most common android governor as it ramps to max frequency instantly once there is load coming and slowly ramps down the frequency on idle.
It gives you almost the same performance but keeps power saving intact.

Thank God there's a better an easier way to get an Android OS on pi. I also love that it is like a desktop UI sort of like Samsung Dex.

LineageOS far superior in performance which is a shame cause this is far superior in UI and function. I hope it gets improved over time. As is the screen flickers black when anything graphically intensive is launched. Even things down to the play store which was the big attraction for me and even on the initial setup it was losing the pic over hdmi. I may be a rare case, but I really hope they improve it over time. Cool OS in general though.

That keymapping feature is game changer for pi, it will allow playing games which were not previously playable without touchscreen.

I have a question this one's a real deal breaker for me so please help you can I operated the system and everything worked out great as you said I only have one severe problem I don't have full access to my space doesn't matter what SD card I put into the thing it only leaves me with 8 gigs how do I unlock the rest?

Any Linux or old windows like 7 works smoothly and much more performance than any version of un optimized android for sure

Ok so ive got a few issue that i wanna see if u can help resolve.
Issue 1 :storage. Ive noiced in the program I have up to 5.5 gb to use when i have a nice 128gb that is in use.
2. Can u over clock it while using this os. I thought there was gonna be setting in the setting menu for it but there wasnt.
Im really enjoyibg usung it almost every day trying every game i used to play on an old android i use to use. Oh also
#3 howndo I update it when it comes to updating it. I do want to resolve any graphical issues that ive been having and i believe its just from it being an early build. I would love another and detailed video on this os

That is cool and all but the lack of hardware acceleration on AOSP based systems for the RPi stinks as it'd really help with Netflix and Prime Video.
