Former USPS chair of board of governors sounds alarm on mail-in voting

Funding the U.S. Postal Service has become a political hot-button issue in the run-up to the November presidential election. The USPS has formally warned 41 states that it cannot guarantee that all votes cast by mail will be delivered in time to be counted. Former chairman of the USPS board of governors S. David Fineman joins CBSN's Lana Zak to talk about his Barron's op-ed "Quit Interfering and Save the Postal Service."

What are they doing with the large soring equipment that is being removed. Are they scraping it. Are they selling it to foreign countries? Are they selling it to Ups for pennies on the dollar so ups will have high speed sorting equipment when the post master general closes the post office. Or is the post master and trump going to set up their own company with it to provide high cost mail service when they close the doors of the usps saying its insolvent..

The USPS told Congress weeks back that it needs $13 billion to help make it through the year. The Democrats' bill provides the $13 billion plus an extra $12 billion (to assist with mailing in ballots). What Trump is arguing is that the USPS doesn't NEED the amount above the $13 billion, and that's because he doesn't want massive voting by mail. These are the details.

I’m 62. Postal workers have Always been hero’s, dedicated to connecting us all in a time pre internet & forward . I pray This despicable ploy aimed at voter suppression, by this corrupt administration, is the final disgrace and exposes the fraud that finally brings its end in shame for even trying to corrupt the sacred Americans right to vote . BOTH SIDES Ate complicit in disenfranchisement of the people but the Corporate Privatizers have been after OUR PUBLIC post office since I can remember .This must end now & the sanctity of Mail in and all votes must be supported in this time of Covid with expansion of OT & hazard pay, more people placed in their workforce, more machinery & mechanisms already in place reinforced to keep voting by mail honest & efficient as it has ALWAYS PROUDLY BEEN DONE BY USPS .
