Faker & Black Sun WITH LYRICS | FNF Vs. Sonic.EXE Cover

This is a little project I've had in the works for quite some time, seeing as it is one of my favorite songs and characters from VS Sonic.EXE. While this is not my first time dipping into the waters of lyrical Friday Night Funkin' arrangements, it is my first full cover of a song. I had a ton of fun making this and I hope everyone enjoys it!

I'd like to give a Titanic shoutout to all who aided in seeing this uploaded! Though I could have spent God knows How long refining it, I felt it'd not only be good practice to get these covers to a completed state, but so Very funny to have this be my April Fool's Day upload as well. Concerns, Comments, and Criticism are all very welcome and encouraged!

"Face your fears and I'll face mine" is such an unintentionally terrifying statement for Faker to say because realistically, what the _fuck_ would something like *him* be afraid of? The mirror?

"Fear eigengrau" is genuinely one of the most unique lines of this cover, saying it's the fear of true darkness, or at least what im interpreting it as.

I fucking adore the interpretation of EXE here. He sounds like some sort of preacher or cult leader trying to reign you in with getting inside your head via double-negatives and making you question your identity when in Faker form, then when shedding the disguise, just giving you the cold hard truth about how the world is and how it's live or die. He sounds so...Human. The demonic, violent tall as fuck hedgehog creature sounds *human, * in the way he speaks. He sounds so utterly sincere and it's so *surreal.* I hope we'll hear more lyrical stuff and original songs from you soon!

This version of "Faker" is perhaps the best depiction out of all of them, not due to a power threshold, but simply since it is like a two-pronged existential attack...but not without spots of hope.

The "Faker" is essentially taking what you know and laying out elements of reality. Specifically, the "individual", on a personal level to ease them into listening to him.

The tall and lanky "True" form is, all things considered, ruthless in its words and tone. It is illuminating the addictive poison of the world around you, using Krokodil of all things to elaborate.

Side Note:"Krokodil" is an extremely powerful and addicting opiate that, upon injection into the skin, results in a form of scaly necrosis of the human skin usually as a black or grayish green and causes it to peel or fall off, hence its name.

Furthermore, it knows that deep within each person is a primal, vicious desire. It may not be immediate nor may it be too long, it is inevitable either way.

But, he doesn't see any reason to kill because of it, but instead ask you to try and fail. Confront the truth as fearful as it is and stop trying to indulge your delusions....upgrade and innovate as much as possible. It is also imperative that through such upgrades and innovations that you don't just survive, but live. You survive for now, or die today. Lose sight of the point in exchange for a banal present or seemingly needless banter

Regardless, Faker is actually trying to help you realize that being stubborn and seeing everything is normal while also deluding yourself is as dangerous as the demons themselves. This is to the point you are a zombie to society. Just waltzing and shifting around, an insignificant and unremarkable creature.

In short: Don't fear the unpredictability of Life, Fear the artificial banality that accompanies a comforting lie. Especially the ones you tell yourself.

1:10 i love how even in the song there are clues that faker is laying to the listener, in this part for example, "he says naught but false to thing that im fake", but if you are no paying attencion to the lyrics on the screen, you can hear how the lyrics change to "not that false to think that ik fake" is just increible how much effort they put in the rewitten of the lyrics.

Or maybe is just me hearing things that are not there, who knows

I love EXE's interpretation here. Rather than his canon story, being just another boring "he wants to be God" storyline, this version makes him a complex and interesting character.

I liked how instead of taking turns of the lyrics, Faker.EXE sings for the entire song, which turned out perfectly. And the art truly shows the emotion of Faker.EXE on both Faker and Black Sun. Well done.

Stuff I noticed:

"This land is divided, they need someone they can confide in" is a reference to Nominal Dingus' cancelled Faker lyrics "And it's all divided, now they have no one to confide in" (I wrote Nominal's lyrics from memory they might be wrong)

"Our Midas made a light to overcome the darkest fires" Midas is a reference to the story of King Midas, the king who turned everything he touched into gold. The line probably has to due with the title Black Sun, it shines light despite being dark, which explains the phrase "darkest fires"

"'Till titans carry the world asunder" is a possible reference to Greek mythology. My knowledge on it is a bit rusty but I believe titans were the first generations of gods who were overthrown by Zeus, and if they were to be released from their prison they'd destroy the world. Again my knowledge is rusty so I could be wrong.

"Put krokodil, straight into your veins" Krokodil is kind of drug, if injected into your skin it leads to limb amputation and death, with many side effects before that happens


"In this fight between the good and evil, let me tell you now that I am neither" is a reference to Sayo's Black Sun lyrics, "In this dance of good and evil I am neither!"

"Timeless, spineless, paradigmless" For anyone who doesn't know what it means, paradigmless is a typical example of a pattern

"Face your fears and I'll face mine" idk if this is a reference to anything, but the line feels so familiar to me

"Fear eigengrau" Eigengrau is a dark grey that can be seen in perfect darkness as a result of singals from the optic nerves

I probably missed some stuff lol, I love these lyrics so much, they get so creative like with the krokodil and eigengrau lines. If you have more fnf lyrics planned then I'd be happy to see them. I didn't watch this with expectations but if I did then you would've definitely exceeded them.

And the fact you removed Boyfriend’s parts in favor of a single character singing is very unique, and something I wish more people would do now.

I love how Faker is using what he knows about sonic and using it as a cover because faker knows that sonic protects the world hence why he’s kept reminding Bf saying he’s not fake even so that he says that Bf the fake…this is amazing!

the fact this version of Faker doesn't even want to inflict harm or wants you dead. Instead he wants you to seemingly Survive and Thrive. He wants you to face reality even if such a thing is too scary to even consider. He speaks as if *Human* and that puts its own version of feeling *Uneasy*

This ain't even A TAKE on lyrics, this better be canon man, like I'm going to riot just to vote to make these THE canonical lyrics to Black sun at least, forget literally every other take on this.

This is so good, I can finally be at peace and forget about what could've been with Nominal's unfinished Black Sun and Faker songs.

Side note I LOVE the detail that even after transforming, he doesn't refer directly to HIMSELF as the "Terror" or "Monster" in the situation, kinda leading on that he isn't the evil one in the situation, that he only stands in the middle, as if presenting himself as a solution, or an equal balancing force beyond the scope of good and evil.

I love the idea of an EXE that blurs the line like this, he's not the hero fighting some monster, but he's also not the villain or a monstrous embodiment of death and evil. He is just that, that enigmatic middle ground.
