Any human being that understands the absolute basics of common sense, is likely to understand that Maurice Ashley, a grandmaster himself, obviously knows that Magnus was trying to find a good move despite being in a bad situation, and that he obviously asked that question to make chess approachable and interesting to the masses.

I think Magnus is getting sick of these press conferences. I don't really see any chess analysis at these anymore, maybe it's there and I am missing it. All I am seeing are brain dead questions like "which commentator do you like the most?" or "How is your hotel?" or "Why did you spend so much time on one move?" Ok the cake question was funny but most of this is pure crap.
