How lucky was I? I booked a very inexpensive cruise all over N.Z. and just returned from there. The weather and the locals were great. I know many others who had paid for expensive trips during January and their cruise couldn't cruise into many ports because of the last Auckland flooding.

It's the poor drainage systems not being maintained and poor infrastructure causing flooding in certain areas throughout the country. The wind is strong/blustery and a cause for concern fallen trees, slips, powerlines down as well as power outages.some houses on hills ended up falling down with the slips leaving people scared with nothing but the clothes they are standing in.Very sad sight to witness. My condolence to those that have lost loved ones during this cyclone.
