hey, just wanted to say I appreciate how many packs you've covered, how thorough you are, and so on - you will live forever in my mind as the packing peanut guy (in a good way)

Another benefit seems to be that due to the roll top, it is more "Secure" than other bags I have seen. It would not be easy for pickpockets, etc... to access the bag.

That’s amazing! I think this backpack is so versatile! I think a demonstration of how much you can pack and different uses could be a great video! Thanks for your video! You are so far my favorite travel male YouTuber ! Thanks for your video!

I love my Osprey Ultralight dry packable daypack. I have the first version that was not waterproof, no front pocket and only had one bottle pocket. The updates were worth the upgrade!

I have this pack and I love it. I lay it flat in my bag for trips and it saved me big time on a trip to Portland where it was pouring for days.

It’s hard to beat with the features especially if you’re looking for a water proof bag. I end up using it a lot more than I thought I would since the straps are pretty comfortable. Like you said you have to pack it in a way where it’s comfortable but that’s to be expected with structureless bags.

I love the Osprey bags. Well made, durable, and very lightweight. I have the Ultralight Stuff Pack and the 30 litre Arcane Duffel. Ideal bags for airlines with a combined maximum weight allowance of 7kg for carry on and personal item.

With those packable bags I always find they pack smaller flat. I tend to find a plastic folding sheet (like from an Eagle Creek garment folder) and cut it down to the size of the bag to use as a frame sheet. It still packs super flat and improves the comfort dramatically, especially with bottles and heavier gear.

I always have a small 18L rolltop dry bag from Hyper Gear inside my travel backpack. Finally, Osprey has one of its own. It's a very handy bag when you need to go out lightweight to explore places 😊

Thanks for the review. I kinda outgrew this type of packable daypack once I bought my first Aer Go, which weighed about 1lb. Compared to my Eagle Creek 16L packable daypack (similar to this Osprey), the increase in comfort, structure and organization seems totally worth the trade-off. Now, I own an Aer Go 2 which is even heavier! But, it’s grown to be a really functional daypack that happens to be packable. I think for One-bagging this seems like a sweet spot - ultralight packable stuff seems cool until you wear one around Germany for a long day 🙂

Hi! Any chance that you'd release a review of the Freerain22? I've been torn between the freefly and freerain as my packable and you always provide the best reviews!

Great review! I’ve seen some written reviews online stating that the roll top is a bit rubbish and unrolls easily even when clipped - what is your opinion?

On a longer trip I carry both a packable backpack for day trips and a 13 liter dry bag for soaking dirty laundry. Do you think this Eagle Creek bag could be used for both purposes?

How would you compare it to the free rain 22? I have the matador and considering something that packs down smaller

Dear friend, Is this a good bag for somebody who is very, very skinny and can barely carry lots of weight? I've been trying to find a bag for a very skinny person to feel less weight. Thank you

Sad this is discontinued, Osprey wants to push products that weigh nearly double or triple this. Im guessing its because they have more structure.

Completely waterprooof and submersible? My freerain cannot be submersed or sit in water.
