Art Director’s Feedback on My Movie Poster Designs

My art director Ashley gave me brief comments and sent me back to make more versions. Below is her feedback:

“I would say it’s a good first step and a tiny bit of a hot mess. (I asked Ashley if it was a hot mess😂) Maybe try doing a few alt versions?

I will say the ‘don’t touch’ looks out of place. I almost thought it was like FPO copy…..(FPO means ‘for placement only.’) I think you have a good beginning structure but it needs some work. It’s a little dark so brighten it up.

You definitely are going in the right direction as face as layout….the headline works well but I’m not thrilled with the placement

I could give better guidance if I saw what the full nest image is. Also it could be fun to add a wasp or two interacting with the type. The more I look at it the more I want to jump into your photoshop file and make adjustments.”

Looks really good. I read that wasps cant see red. Attracted to blue and white...if she says its too dark. I'm not sure if i would add a wasp bc it can become the subject. Just the nest seems better bc it keeps it elusive.

Such a good exercise! I guess that a fictitious poster gives you more freedom to do what you wabt, right?

Part of the symbolism surrounding the wasp is to take action. Merely having an idea is not enough to see your way to success. Always have a plan, and keep working towards that goal; don't just sit and ponder. (I had a fixation on totems for in this world has a totem.)

We live on the lake and I remembered alot of snakes and wasps around our house. They would make homes by the trees and if you go by one of the would attack and try to kill So my dad or mom would grab you up and run to the pool as fast as they could. Why the pool was stupid bc the lake is closer. They cant attack in water.
