Macron Calls for Halting Weapons Sale to Israel, Netanyahu Lashes Out | Subscribe to Firstpost

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu criticised French President Emmanuel Macron for his remarks against Israeli operations in Lebanon and call for halting the sale of weapons to Israel. Netanyahu labelled Macron's stand as a "disgrace". He also added that Israel will win the battle with or without the support it gets. Earlier, Macron called for an embargo on the sale of "Weapons of war" to Israel and expressed reservations over the Israeli military's ground operations in Lebanon. He also added that parties providing weapons to Israel are not consistent with their calls for a ceasefire. Macron said, "Lebanon cannot become the new Gaza." During a summit in Paris, he said France would also host an international conference to discuss humanitarian aid for Lebanon and strengthen security in its southern part.
