"It's a rich man's war, and a poor man's fight." Been said for hundreds of years, because it's true.

I'm a disabled army combat veteran of the Vietnam War. I was wounded on December 14, 1969, the year John mentioned. It happened a month before my 21st birthday. I spent 9 months recovering in army hospitals in Vietnam, Japan and the United States. John Fogerty has always had a special place in his heart for Vietnam Vets. I exchanged letters with he and his wife Julie. I saw him in concert and he was nice enough to send me a autographed 'Blue Moon Swamp' cd. John is a very nice and humble man. His music will never be forgotten as long as we Vietnam Veterans are still hanging around. LOL!! "When I die I know I'm going to heaven, because I've spent my time in Hell: VIETNAM."

John Cameron Fogerty, I believe is one of the finest Americans I know off! He wrote, produced, arranged some of the finest “Americana” songs in music history. Not only that, I have studied & researched him since 1968 & have come to the conclusion he has a lot of integrity & compassion for his fellow man & woman, not only American’s, either. USA, is blessed to have this fine chap representing R&R music, and music in general.
Btw, I am not an American!

I was 10yrs. old at this time 1969. My older brother fought hard to stay out of this war and I was so frightened for him. I know today that the war in Vietnam started an upsetting era of anti-war protests and musicians singing about their feelings of the war was misinterpreted. I'm a student now in The history of Rock - and I picked this son to do my project. I now understand what your song was actually about - "Inequality"

I love This Guy. He’s honest and rite to the point. Good or bad. His cards are always on the table face up. No frills. God Bless You John And Thank You Julie. Anybody who’s anybody knows what I mean by that. God Bless Her.

"The question is, why do the poor have to die so the rich don't lose money?"

Where are the protest songs today? Few and far between, sadly. And we need some good ones now.

The song is about how people can pay out of the military in the US during the Vietnam War
