I was at this gig! I didn't even have a ticket and had just gone to be near The Boss and listen from outside. Then I heard one of the gates was letting people in for a fiver 😱and I was in!!! Best gig, best evening and the best bargain of my life. 🥰

My first Bruce concert too, I was at this concert. I travelled from Nottingham to Wembley for the first time in my life with my future husband, Richard Bird. It was a truly amazing day and Bruce, The Boss was brilliant, such energy. He gives so much to the crowd and they worship him, his music, the band, everything was terrific. I'll never forgot this concert. I've seen Bruce in concert about 5 times in the UK and Paris. This particular week on 4th July I also travelled to Leeds to see Bruce again in Leeds on 11 July 1985. I was very lucky. Thank you for posting this. It's very emotionally for me because my husband passed away early at 47 years of age.

July 4th 1985 will be forever remembered as the day I finished my A-levels and then dashed up to Wembley to see Bruce for the first time. That was the start of the best summer ever.

Wow this is great. I took my girl of the time to this concert. I was just 21 and she was just 19. We were just so young. It was an amazing time to be alive. So much good music, so many good concerts to go and see. The ticket was only £15 but I managed to get the 4th and the 6th. It was all done by post from what I remember. You had to wait to see if you were successful when that envelope came through the door. I drove us up to Wembley in my sports car with the top down. The weather was warm and Springsteen mania was here. Oh to be young again. It's so hard to believe this was over 39 years ago now! I saw Dire Straits the following Saturday at the Arena whilst Live Aid was on. Wow what a week that was. We sadly split up the following year, but I can still look back and smile when all of life was still ahead of me.

My first Bruce concert, couldn't stand him before this concert, only went because a friend had a spare ticket. Been hooked on Bruce ever since and have seen him more than 30 times live

I was there too! My first stadium gig, travelling up from Eastbourne. Absolutely amazing experience and been fan ever since. My 36 year old son grew up with me playing Bruce and has followed him to concerts around the world, and I'm about to go to Croke Park Dublin to see 'the Boss' 39 years after that first concert. Can't wait.

That's some set list! I was there with my aunt, a big Elvis fan, who's husband had just died, and at his funeral they played Born To Run as the coffin went away. She was in tears already when he sang Can't Help Falling In Love. When he went straight into Born To Run, she looked at me as if she couldn't take it any more

I was lucky enough to be at Wembley for this gig, I was 15 and it blew my mind, never seen a live performer like him. They don't call him The Boss for nothing.

I was there on the 3rd July, first time to Wembley, a life changing experience, seen many times since, hands down the greatest live performer of all time, Bruce's music is tattooed to my soul, thank you Boss ❤❤

I was there! My only Springsteen concert, because I didn’t think it would ever get any better. Never asked the girl who sat on my shoulders for most of the gig for her number, but I hope she liked the view!

Drove down from Sunderland with my girlfriend... had a side bet that he would open with ID, which he did of course. My Dad died the year before so the whole concert was charged with that 'connection' thing that Bruce always talks about. I cant put into words what it means to me to hear this concert again. Thanks so much for posting.

Thanks again. I’ve got this on bootleg. On cassette. It’s the concert where he dedicates Promised Land to Bono and the guys!! Obtained the cassette for this around 1986!!! Amazing concert!! Sorry I’ve just seen the track listing with the tribute to Bono and Co being listed. Problem my favourite version of Twist & Shout. You can tell he had the crowd eating out of his hands!!

My first Bruce concert, I was right at the front and was heartbroken when the roadie chose the girl next to me to go up on stage to be with Bruce when he sang, Dancing in the Dark! Got hooked on Bruce in the US in 1984 when I was 19... been a fan ever since. Seen him all over the world but this concert is the special one for me. thank you for great memories and so much joy through your music. I was a massive Elvis fan and in 84 went through the Kings house so when Bruce payed tribute to Elvis in this concert I felt it was okay to become a fan of the Boss!

So pleased to see this on YouTube. Still one of the best gigs ever! Ive been telling my wife about it for years, and now I have the proof! I think the ticket was about £15, and Harvey Goldsmith got a grilling on The Old Grey Whistle Test, for charging such an exorbitant amount! Well we've got tickets for Hyde Park 2023 and they are a tad more expensive! Thank you for posting this great concert.

This was my very first Springsteen concert - seen him quite a few times since. I was really lucky to get tickets for the 6th July concert - My partner at the time worked in the accounts dept. at The Sun newspaper (I know but different times back then!) A journalist gave him two tickets. We had great seats. Hands down the best concert I have ever been to (and there's been quite a few since then!) I danced so much I ached for days after and my ears wouldn't stop ringing for ages- back then concerts were really loud, all different now. Over four hours, magical. The man is a legend.

After 2 days in Wembley, Bruce shows up with his guitar to Ivan Beavis and my late husband John Marsh's union offices to volunteer to play for free for the children during the minor's strike. Ivan and John were out and the secretary turned Bruce down because they were all booked. All the secretary said to Ivan and John when they came back was " a guy called Springbaum called but I said we were all booked". The secretary nearly got strangled :)

I bought two tickets to this gig for my girlfriend and I, but she dropped out at the last minute. I went to Wembley intending to sell both tickets as I was gutted but the atmosphere was such that in the end I gave the spare ticket away to a young lady who was looking for a spare. The gig was awesome. Getting out atfter the concert was terrifying though. The crowds and crush to get the tube home afterwards was just a solid mass of people. Thanks for this posting. Brings back happy memories of that time in London.
