The Liverpool four knew that Abbey Road would be their last album together and Paul McCartney wanted to close the circle in a special way, so he devised a set of songs with parts in common that should be played together, that is, a medley. This masterful farewell would close with one of the most legendary verses in the history of music. It's time to know everything about The Beatles' last song.

There is absolutely no reason to choose between which song is your favorite as it can change from day to day and especially due to the mood you are in on that day.
Can we just agree that The Beatles are the best band ever and simply enjoy all of their output.

Now and Then was an unexpected timeless gift.

I've always said, no band evolved more than The Beatles. To go from She Loves You to Sgt. Pepper, the White Album and Abbey Road is nothing short of remarkable!

Nothing can be said that hasn't already been said so many times before... There will never be another band that can touch The Beatles... none can even come close. The Beatles set a standard in less than a decade that remains unapproachable to this day ~ over a half century later. That's not to say many, many others aren't historically good... and yes - GREAT!!
But as with all things, there can be only ONE that truly and unquestionably is the BEST... the 'Everest"... the greatest of all time. And for me and tens of millions of others -- that standard IS The Beatles.
I am very grateful to have grown up with The Beatles and to have my own copies of just about all of their greatest ground-breaking recordings. I never tire of them, their music, and their performances -- and I am so thankful that two of the original "Fab Four" are still with us here in 2024.
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are still making music and uplifting us all. Sadly, John is long departed this world by the actions of a madman in 1980 when John was only 40... and George left us nearly 30 years ago due to cancer. There will never be another band quite like them... Lightning like that never strikes the exact same spot twice. Those who grew up loving The Beatles and their music are blessed beyond measure. ... 'May God Bless John, Paul, George and Ringo... ... (as well as their genius producer, Sir George Martin, R.I.P) both now and for all time.

I was so sad when the Beatles broke up. I just wanted the music to go on forever. But now I am older I am thankful for what we got..

I have always loved the final medley from Abbey Road, a favorite of mine among many, it is truly a classic piece of Beatles music. As a Beatles fan, I welcomed the 3 later songs, including the last one, Now & Then, which came out almost 30 years after the first 2. I want Beatles songs to be played at my wake after I pass away.

Saw Paul as part of my daughter's HS graduation celebration in early 2000s. She's taking her older brother and me to see Ringo in September in DC.

I absolutely can't decide! I don't even want to. They were geniuses as a band and individually also. They were unbeatable. They defined the change musically from the fifties to all pop music from the sixties and thereafter. Thank you BEATLES ❤❤❤❤

I think of the genius of the Beatles and have to thank Paul McCartney for his love and dedication to his band mates and fans

I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say that Paul is the most important musician/singer/songwriter of the last century, maybe ever.

The Abby Road, is in my opinion, the Beatles best work, absolutely.

I can listen to Ringo play solo all day but in my opinion I truly love Now and Then and how masterful it was. I know all good things must pass but I will go to my grave loving the Beatles! There will never be nor never was a band like the Beatles who all brought their own creativity and genius.

I love Paul's music. And in the case of Now and Then I guess that it was a miracle that Yoko gave the tape to Paul as well as the fact that they saved the work they did in 1995 when George was still alive. The band is undoubtedly the most popular, the most talked about, the best known and the most famous of the 20th century. The real miracle was that 4 wonderfully talented musicians came together. Only their ego and lack of awareness of their purpose together separated them. They never realized how good and how special they were together. I have been their fan for 62 years. Thank you

Who are we to judge? I can't call it. I just appreciate that the four of them gave us so much to remember, and enjoy for many years to come, as we did then and still do today. Thank you John, George, Paul, and Ringo.

I grew up with the Beatles. I was 10 years old in 1963. I remember them very well on Ed Sullivan show. My mother liked them and my dad hated them. My dad like country music or Bluegrass he was from North Carolina. I myself thought Abbey Road was one of the best albums they ever did, it was their last let it be has some say. I remember George Martin saying let’s don’t make this one so sad. Let’s pick it up. Because let it be was a sad album. I love the magical mystery tour album and Sergeant Pepper. Those were some of my favorites even some of the earliest stuff they did was great. They still live in my heart today. I was really sad when John was shot poor John and poor George dying with cancer, so sad. I’m glad to see Paul and Ringo still alive and doing well. I must say thank you for inspiring me to play guitar. George was one of my greatest inspirations in playing guitar. I picked it up and 74 and now I’m 70 years old, almost 71 and still play today thank you Beatles for inspiring me. I love you has a Band. One of my favorite bands of all times I placed the Beatles as my number one favorite band thanks guys. Love you miss you, John and George.😄👍❤️❤️😢😪 The tears are for John and for George. Have a beautiful day. I love this video.❤️❤️❤️☮️

The “White Album” was intended to be the Beatles’ “monumental” final album, but John got itchy to make a raw recording like the ‘early days’ and ‘Come Together’ and ‘I Want You’ were contributions to that effort, as was Paul’s ‘Oh Darling.’ George finally was able to contribute two major songs ‘Something’ and ‘Here Comes the Sun’ and Ringo was able to add his bookend to ‘Yellow Submarine’ with ‘Octopus’ Garden’ The medley was born of necessity: no one had any other complete songs, so Paul collaged together what they had into something that had a continuity to it. I’m sure John thought it was codswaddle, but it is a remarkable bit of work. And like so much else the group did, has entered the hall of renown as the first ‘rock medley’ in music history. Even Beatles’ accidents become immortal! Good on you, lads!

I've been in love with the Beatles, all of them, most of my life. I'm grateful I got to see them live in Memphis many years ago. "Thank you" is hardly sufficient for a lifetime of music we're all still enjoying. Thanks for the soundtrack of our lives. We're still listening.
