If anyone is wondering how long this actually took, 1 minecraft day is around 20 minutes long. this spanned until sunrise the next minecraft day meaning... it took just about 30 mins to get up the entire thing. (thank me later)

It's literally 4600+ blocks long, and that is a very long staircase

It is the least efficient method, yes. But you could also say that this was the smoothest staircase there is to build limit and I like that thought better.

technically you could've added a fence at the end instead of grass at y 256 so that you are half a block above the build limit

For yall wondering, with a start time at 7:59 AM and an end time of 5:11 AM the following day, the journey took 21 hours and 12 minutes minecraft time, or 17 minutes and 36 seconds our time.

If you want to be even _more_ mathy, this gives our traveller an upwards velocity of 0.24 blocks(or meters)/second. Steve's walking speed is 4.3 m/s by contrast.
