Developed by Digital Sun, creators of Moonlighter, The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story™ is an action RPG that takes place in the League of Legends universe. In the kingdom of Demacia, the Mageseekers hold the power to oppress magic-using citizens in the name of public order–by inducting and indoctrinating them, locking them away, or driving them into hiding.

Play as Sylas, a spell-stealing mage who has just broken free of his unjust captivity at the Mageseekers’ hands. Wielding the chains that once bound you, you must liberate your homeland from tyranny, one Mageseeker at a time.

I played a bit of Moonlighter on a mates Switch, thought it was pretty cool... You can definitely tell this is by the same company, really getting a recognizable aesthetic. Hard to do in a crowded marketplace.

Riot Games to me now feels like that cool and innovative Blizzard we've lost. The cool hero focused fantasy design, character building, the cohesive fantasy worlds, the strong emphasis on not treading the same, safe waters with game mechanics and game engines all the time. So i'm totally going to play this. Not to say that current Blizzard with the addition of Vicarious Visions would be bad, just that they play it incredibly safe and don't really surprise people anymore. But that's a back and forth between playing it safe and alienating old players for a big and much more older company like Blizzard.

What is with the Switch and frame rate issues... will this ever end or are we all fated to suffer these poor performance issues until a new Switch system is released?? It's happening too much! And no, I refuse to believe the cause is always the older tech used in the Switch... this game is more than capable of running at a more locked/steady frame rate, which leads me to believe it's more likely often the devs who are unable & unwilling to put in the time & work to produce more stable frame rates in their games.

Even though you said this game fluctuates btwn 50-60fps, it still looks from my point of view that the fluctuating frame rate doesn't hinder gameplay or enjoyment? At least that's the impression I get from your review... which btw, is great and still among the best on YT covering new Switch game releases.

Really liked moonlighted, while this is a really different game the art styles similar. Not a magey story and seems quite legendary 😮
