I run a MacBook Pro in clamshell mode through an Apple Studio Display. Unlocking it works when the MacBook is open, but not when it's closed. Instead, the Studio Display requires a password to be typed. It has to, I suppose, otherwise the MacBook, sensing the nearness of the watch, would immediately undo every attempt to lock it. This might be why, when I lock the MacBook while it's open, and I'm wearing the watch, it doesn't automatically unlock again; and I have to use Touch ID or type the password. To unlock it with the watch, I have to close and reopen the MacBook.

It's a good feature, but I see it as a work in progress and not yet finished.

I have a series 7 and an m2 MacBook Air but this feature is very bad now you have to wake the Mac then wait for the screen to sleep then wake it again with the trackpad for it to work. Very bad feature no one should use it if your Mac has a fingerprint sensor.

Basically anyone who knows your 4 digit apple watch passcode can unlock both

Hack the network enabled watch and take the credentials, then reverse shell into the pc and use those creds to get in. Fail.
