I'm very much into that 80s sound. It's super important to my project. I'm less a programmer, more a player, and in general when it comes to synths my focus is the raw tone first and foremost. I do prefer my X8 because of the multiple filters and the fact that it covers more OB ground convincingly: OB8, OB-Xa & OB-X. Sonically, while not exact, it's closer to the OG's in the areas I think matter, than the UB. That's said, I think the UB sounds really good too, in it's own right, and you definitely get a lot for the money. It has a darker tone I find appealing. The 16 voices with the ability to stack/split alone makes it worth it to me, and as such I'll likely get the UB desktop and put it above or next to my X8. That's the plan so far anyways.

Oh, Behringer. I was really disappointed by the user interface - why would you throw away the Deepmind firmware for something that feels like 40 years old - so I'm not that sad about the sound of the UB-XA doing nothing for me. I pass this time.
Let's see if the Jupiter or CS80 clone will have enough sonic eargasm to make me forget about that shitty 2-line LCD display.

My OB-X8 get's never out of tune. You just did not calibrate it enough. Also you compare Arp Functions beeing worse on the Desktop OB-X8 with the Keyboard Version of the UB-Xa - that makes no sense.

The problem with behringer is they sell a bunch of synth, that are never in stock so great they released yet another synth thats unavailable smh 🤦‍♂️

The UBXA is a nice synth, but does NOT nail the basic punchy Obee sound well enough from my view. Behringer came much closer to the respective original sound with their Arp clone(s) or their Model D clone. Even the GForce Obee software synths sound closer to the original basic Obee sound to me (yes, I know the difference between an x and Xa, but that's not the point here) than the UBXa. No UBXa for me ...
