I don't see Xbox ever recovering, which is a shame. When they announced Games Pass in 2018 high street stores across Europe and Japan boycotted Xbox products as they said Games Pass puts bricks and mortar stores out of business. It has been on the decline since then. Xbox sales have collapsed in Europe to the point several countries no longer even stock Xbox products anymore. It's getting near on impossible to buy physical media for Xbox. This bugs me as I bought the more expensive Series X as it had a disc drive. I feel let down and conked by it. Everyone is buying PS5s man. Just today on Twitter so many celebrities have been saying they are going out to buy a PS5 so they can play the new Undisputed boxing game. This in turn makes more people want the PS5. Even I'm considering selling my Series X and getting a PS5 Pro.

The Microsoft 18 month contract mandate and the limited amount of time it takes to ramp a new hire to understand the Slipspace Engine was a bad mix. Moving to UE should help as more devs are comfortable with that engine but they need to change the contract situation.
