Wow, as someone who played and loved this game as a kid and got into competitive Pokemon much later in life, I never knew this! You're telling me Eruption Heatran, one of THE pillars of CHALK, was only obtainable from Pokemon Ranger??? I always learn something new from Wolfey on this channel!

when i was younger pokemon ranger guardian signs was one of the only games i had for my DS. i played that game so much and eventually did a no save run (which means that if i died id go back to the start of the game no matter how far i got in the game). got about half way before dying in the sinking submarine section and quit the game for a bit. came back recently and fell in love with it all over again. such a charming little spinoff game.

Hey Wolfey, I wanted to tell you about an experience I had with a double battle! I played this player who had only electric Pokémon on their team. I didn’t think much about it until I realized they were about to sweep my team. So first they send out emolga and raichu, both of the Pokémon had discharge which effects every one on the field… except for the fact that both of the Pokémon had abilities that absorbed electric moves and boosted their Sp.A, Defense/ Speed. And I think you know what happens after that. I’m not even mad just surprised with the amazing strategy.

Also fun fact: The anime had an episode featuring a Heatran with the move Eruption. It also featured Pokemon Rangers. Thinking back on it now, that episode was definitely meant to advertise the Heatran from Guardian Signs.

Meaning that it got to the top 3 while not being optimal

Makes sense why their was a special event for heatran knowing eruption, correlating with the pokemon episode where they were hunting down the unique heatran knowing eruption

Pokémon ranger was so fun I remember being home from school sick for a week and playing it basically all day in bed helped me feel so much better

Ranger:gaurdian signs was my first ever Pokémon game.I remember starting up the game at my local giant (which is unfortunately gone now) and being so interested.It’s still one of my top 5 games in the franchise
