I really appreciate you bringing up the cropping function.

You are 100% on-point with the faster culling process. Trusting your images to be in focus is such a game-changer!

Yup, no need to focus and recompose. I also use the screen for very low angle shots instead of lying down on my belly. R5, is a great camera.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I think it might be time for a camera upgrade.

I've been following you on Instagram for a while, didn't realize you were on youtube. Big fan, instantly subscribed.

Hey John, great video. Did you end up buying new lenses or did you just get the converter? and if you got the converter did you see any loss in quality? Thanks

Overall great video! I'd like some clarification on the auto brightness of the EVF. On the one hand you are asking for a histogram to be displayed for video and on the other hand, it seems like you are basing your actual exposure on the WYSIWYG in the EVF. Do you find that your exposures are optimal when based on your EVF view?

Great video! May I ask what strap you are using?

Can this camera be used as a great point and shoot camera with everything in auto and still get outstanding photos?

Hi John. Hope all is well. How did you enable AF only when shutter button depressed? MY 35 1.8 is super busy when I set it down in between

Hi John. Your friend from across the pond again. Thanks for your time once again for a great video. When I'm doing a product shoot with the R5 tethered into Capture One, I switch off the camera and leave it plugged into the laptop and it seems to recharge the camera battery. What I can say is the R5 is an incredible camera having picked one up about 3 months ago. I have used it instead of renting a MF camera on some of my shoots and it doesn't disappoint! There is one thing that I still think of though. As I have said to a few camera clubs I teach at (photoshop) 'you can put a learner on a Steinway piano but he/she will not play any better'. The eye of the shooter and knowledge of light/camera is key. I will admit, I do not record video... yet. I have yet to get out and use it on the streets as I have been in lockdown (called shielding over here due to my health conditions) but I am to get my vaccine on Monday and the R5 is coming with me with the RF35 1.8 just for some street style. Stay safe fella and wishing you all the best.

Hi John, thank you for your professional approach! I have a question: how do I playback the sound on the r5 which I recorder with the microphone rate button ?

JOhn, love it---for a second you had me concerned where you were going lol---question, where did you find the leather camera strap? Love it. Want to find that exact one for my brand spanking new R5. Thank you for reading.

Nice video and great information. I am thinking of making the Switch from Sony, this helps. Now to sell it all and start again.

Always good information. LCD and swing out is a game changer for Canon cameras in this price point. Always was a little jealous of lesser models with this feature and not on the 1DX and 5Ds. It allows more direct interaction with models (not hidden behind camera all the time) and as mentioned, the back and knees love it for low shots. Yes, I too was a "view finder or bust" snob as well. Stay safe in the winter weather.

Hey John, thanks so much. I can't get the 4x5 crop you are referring to. I am in the blue menu. But in cropping I only see the "normal" crops as in the other menu :-) Thanks!

You scared me at the beginning because I am also a Canon R5 owner and I thought for a moment that you had problems with this camera which for me is exceptional. You are still a photographer I admire even though you unfollowed me in Instagram. Peace out ;)

I just bought the R5 on Monday and haven't had a chance to take it out yet. Your intro scared the crap out of me lol. Good acting :)
