In this second installment on biblical genealogy, Dr Rob explains why all those names (or at least most of them) in the Bible are so important. This should be encouraging to anyone who struggles to read the Bible for comprehension.

I live a little south of that river in Ft. Myers, FL. If you want company next time, let me know. I love going fossil hunting there, too.

A great listen. Thanks to my parents being into creationism, as a kid I would read the Jesus genealogies in church and do the math to work out the age of the earth (the sermons went over my head at that age), so I’ve always believed they had value.
Recently I was reading Jeremiah and the genealogies helped me understand where the kings he was dealing with fit in. That lead me to understand how Jesus, through Mary, descends from David’s son Nathan rather than Solomon- which help me understand why Jesus is ‘a branch from the root of Jesse’ a phrase I hadn’t really understood the full meaning of until exploring the genealogies. Lots of treasure to be found!

This video was a huge blessing! I knew there was a reason that recently took a deep interest in biblical genetics, and I found your channel! God bless you and your work, Dr C.

Y Chromosome Adam is Noah and lived 4500 years ago based on realistic mutation rates, historical data and human population growth

A lot of these Matt 1 and Luke 3 lineage explanations are unaware that Matt 1:16 has a scribal error, which corrected reads "Joseph FATHER of Mary". Yes, Mary's father is also called Joseph. Making this Joseph a FATHER adds the missing generation Matt states should be 14. It also saves Matthew being a liar when he states in Matt 1:1 that he is giving the generations from Abraham/David to Jesus (not Joseph, Mary's husband).

This of course means Luke 3 is husband Joseph's lineage, which it should be.

Also, folks are not aware that there are TWO Jeconiah's, one cursed (Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim) and one not (Jeconiah son of Josiah), of course whom Jesus descends.

I like the way you made this video. keep it up, much better than bookshelves. finding post flood mammoths and giant sloths is really neat! The bible always has good answers, like you say, its just about finding them.

But Jesus is not actually from Joseph’s side .

Why stop at genetics? Let hear about Biblical Fusion Plasma Technology? Biblical Quantum Computing?

What a complete waste of time. Writing geneologies of mythical people.

Or it's almost purely mythical and you're doing gymnastics to make your literal interpretation make sense
