While the COVID-19 pandemic has had little impact on the global food supply chain so far, international organizations are warning about food security problems in the near future, as the ongoing health crisis ripples through the global food trade. Low-income and trade-dependent countries are likely to be worst affected, but wealthy countries may well be hit by price spikes, and panic buying. In the US, farmers are dumping milk and crops in fields are being left to rot because they don't have restaurants, and schools to sell them to.
The US's biggest pork processing plant just shut down .
Also compounding the problem is 2 consecutive winters/ springs of excessive rainfall in the crop producing areas of the country

Ummm, we are having production problems, "Developed" or not. Yes there were/are logistic problems but meat plants and farms are closing, tilling under crops and stopping production so unless your telling me demand has decreased while people are hording, productions a lagging indicator and a bad one. Theres rarely a global supply shortage, it is always a politcal/market problem.
