Lyrics:
My old friend, these poems that you preach
They’re being wasted as you speak
Remind me once more how they came to be your calling
Do you even know you’re falling?

You know that for you I’d give an arm
I’m one of few that never meant you harm
And I heed you like I heed fire and thunder
But from time to time I wander
And lately I did wonder

If you did it all to make you feel desired
Did it all to make you feel admired
For love to replace your shame

That’s quite the group that you have gathered now
Most of them, they just want you somehow
They would pay any price to kiss your skin
Don’t tell me that is loving
You know that don’t mean nothing

You know
You must know
And yet you give it all to make you feel desired
Give it all to make you feel admired
For love to replace your shame
You give it all to make you feel desired
Give it all to make you feel admired
For love to replace your shame
For love to replace your shame
For us to praise your name

Now my friend I won’t forget
The darkness blinding me before we met
It’s all I need to remember you
As the light you were
Even though for sure
You won’t remember me
No, you won’t remember me

I’m afraid that no amount of fame
Will ever wash away the shame
Of knowing not how to love your only friend
Who will love you till the end

My heart is so full right now. I am so thrilled to have new music from my favorite artist. This song really hits me at a time where I relate to it most. Liquid poetry and pure honesty. He’s the artist of a generation.

The middle eastern elements in this song are so incredible, the Oud sound is so soothing and goes well with your voice, I’m so glad you’re back with new music, you deserve so much recognition, love from Egypt

This guy is terrifyingly talented. Discovered him last summer, only just really started listening now. Mark my words he will be a music legend in 10 years, he’ll be among the best of the best. So authentic it hurts. What a voice, what a beautiful artist.

So happy he's back. I feel like he is talking to himself in this song. He doesn't want to follow the crowd and wants to be genuine and true to himself. He wants to be himself. And we know that a lot of artists lose themselves in the music industry. That's just my interpretation.

I just listened to his interview saying that he's read some of the comments and interpretations. Mind you guys, most of our interpretations are way off base. I just pretend otherwise :))

I just wrote a university essay on Tamino's lyricism in "Indigo Night" and no less than a week later he gives us new music...I'm taking this as a very good sign! This is absolutely beautiful, makes me wish my term was a few weeks longer so I could have written on this masterpiece instead 🧿

I overheard a guy in my art class talking with a teacher’s aid about Tamino. He had a beautiful painting that he made of him, waiting. He wants to give it to him at one of his next concerts. He was really passionate about it, and I was curious. Listening to this song, I can see why he feels that way.

Dear Tamino, just know that we love you for who you are. Not just the musician that gives his best to his listeners. You yourself are a gift to us. Precious and priceless. I hope you take care.

Tamino and Hozier, my most favourite musicians and artists of all time. Because they don't just sing and make music, their music is so much more than just music... it's pure art and poetry, it's a higher form of love and divinity. God I feel so lucky to be alive in the same time of such divine gifts for humanity...

This is what amazed me and demolished me in this song. Thank you Tamino.

There are days and nights when I just listen to this song & nothing else. It has a specific mood that doesn’t resemble any other song. Tamino’s voice & haunting melody, the chord progressions, music, lyrics & video all compliment each other perfectly.

Commercial success is much appreciatted, but true authentic timeless art is more than just a rollercoaster, it's something which has profound meaning in our existence. A beautiful blending of tradtional sacred sounds and modern contemporary music!

Sami Yusuf and Tamino are one of the few exceptional artist in modern times who make a harmonious married between modernity and tradition in music.

The vulnerability in this song is so captivating it's like he's taking us inside his consciousness and showing the conflict inside of himself
