Preparing the farm for the darkness

We are heading face first into the dark period of the year. As our farm is located so far north, we will only have a few hours on light each day and so we need to prepare. It is important to get systems in place so we can manage our homestead in the dark. We need to fix and maintain the electric fence, so our animals stay where they are supposed to during the winter. We need to move the pigs and give them a bigger area and we need to fin a safe location to store our movable chicken coop (chicken tractor).

Our farmers too, work with lights in the early mornings and evenings here just to have time to get everything done; but nothing like you deal with! Your family is an inspiration! Take care.

You could cut a couple of trees and make skids for under your pig shed. Put some eye bolts in the end to attach your straps to.
