this version of Sasuke trained under Shisui but never beat him once. A win for Sasuke to Shisui was making him go to a certain level. Sasuke trained under Shisui because he was considered the top 3 strongest Uchiha. Plus neither Itachi or Fugaku were willing to train Sasuke. But what Sasuke never acknowledged was that Shisui was actually stronger than Itachi even though when Shisui said that he was infront of Itachi he didn't deny it. Which is mainly because Shisui unlocking the MS at 7 was considered a top level Uchiha secret. Not to mention all of Itachi's crows were trained by Shisui which is why Itachi never uses them in any time-line where Shisui is alive.

Very few of Naruto fans knows how strong Shisui was. He had a freaking mangekyo when he was a kid and he was feared among all. Its a shame we never seen the prime Shisui.
