Frostgrave Basics - What You Need to Play

I have decided to put together a list of the main things that you'll need to start playing Frostgrave, this includes some handy stuff that I use during my games.

Use the rule of cool for miniatures. For Dark Alchemy #1 I do not have Giant Rats, so using Skaven Clanrats. Just use the same stats as per the creature. Same with customizing a soldier type, for example Crow Master uses Blood Crows. If you want something different say a Skaven Rat Master, or Gnoll Vulture Master. Just use the same stats as per the soldier type and pet.

For paper terrain, I bought some by Dave Graffam. Try wargamevault.com. At the time of writing this, there is a sale on some of his items. For example the ruined church model is going for £0.80p GBP and RRP is £3.97.

Solid overview. Good to point out all the cheep minis you can use. I use a lot of old MageKnight and HeroClix, which you can find cheep on Ebay. Keep up the good work!

After getting dark alchemy i would say that is massively essential because of everything that it changes. Cant buy elixir of life so cheap, strength potion dearer and now only f+1. It changes the game so much. I would also say have some paper handy for wall, fog and mud spell to make templates. Would love to see how your warband has grown and challenge you with my skaven lol.

Ordered the book a box of knights, soldiers and a wizards set to use for main wizard and apprentice. Anything else people would recommend

Excellent video, my friend! As you know, I've been interested for a while, but lack someone to play. If I wanted to do a co-op game like you and Harry as a bargaining chip, would I be able to do that from the core book, or would I need an expansion?

Do the old GW LotR miniatures work with the official frostgrave ones in
terms of size? I have an old Gandalf and Aragon I want to use. I think
they are from the Fellowship of the Ring pack from the first LotR movie.

Hi Kiblams, I don't know if you read these comments at all? But anyway, if you still play Frostgrave (questionmark), I'm just looking into it, and it looks like they have got a plethora of additional books to get, which ones are "needed" so to speak, and which ones aren't?
