This was my second flight in a Harvard, almost 25 years after my first flight in this same airplane.,
Here's what it's like to fly CWHM's Harvard Mk. IV, including the entire takeoff run. This airplane trained pilots for the RCAF in the 1950s. The propeller's characteristic growl during takeoff is caused by the tips of the blades almost reaching the speed of sound.
The flight was mostly southwest of Hamilton, Ontario, with a pass over Toronto Motorsports Park, where we saw a race on the drag strip.
The Hamilton International Airport has several unique cargo and vintage aircraft parked on the ramp as we taxi across the area.
Thanks to Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's Chief Pilot - Captain Leon 'Mad Dog' Evans, for an unforgettable experience.
