"He wanted to check on me, he needed an excuse or he could be accused of caring" Wow, that hits

You can actually see relief in House’s eyes when Chase woke up and then the fear when he can’t feel his legs. This episode was amazing!

4:38 House checking out the monitor even while (ostensibly) diagnosing the patient, proving Chase's words: "He wanted to check on me, but he needed an excuse. Otherwise, he could be accused of _caring."_

i thought it was clever how Chase ended up being the most House like.

This always hits me hard. I’m so glad that chase understands house so well and isn’t paralyzed. Also, HOUSE APOLOGIZED! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!

Chase is basically a mirror of House. Both got attacked by a patient, both have leg issues, both have egos the size of the sun, both are smart as a whip. House is basically Chase's father like figure and their relationship is exactly built up like this.

You can always tell if it's season 8 if it's really, really depressing.

Taub has almost nothing to do with this episode and yet his summary of the event is by far the most accurate: "Chase knew psychotic break was a possibility, he knowingly brought a scalpel inside, he endangered himself and others." The prank is irrelevant, House is irrelevant. The testimony of all characters is skewed with irrelevant details.

In the key moments you can see House's eyes shine from held back tears. It's amazing every time.

Hugh Laurie did such a great job with this character. House pretends so hard to not care about anyone, but in truth, he not only cares, but probably cares the most. This constant act is a heavy burden on him, and makes him extremely bitter.

Love Chase the most. He has changed or grown a great deal from a playboy to a very matured doc.
The way he hid his hurt about being paralyzed... The way he dealed with House, all shows what a good person he is at heart...
Happy he is cured and at the very end replaced House.... No one deserves it better than Chase...

“Because if you die I’m alone” to Wilson
“I’ll kill you…when the time comes if you want me to” to Thirteen
“You wanna know how I feel?…I feel hurt” to Cuddy
“I’m sorry” to Chase
Even though House was a character regarded as misanthropic and antisocial I have to admit that every time he expressed something like this, it felt so good because you knew it was completely genuine and sincere. For House to express how he really felt or to show sympathy was not easy but the few times he did it, were so touching. He will always be one of the best-written characters on TV.

You can see at the end when House apologises, Chase responded with a remark very similar to how House would've responded in that scenario. Showing little affection, guilt or happiness, instead being sarcastic and condecending. Really shows how Chase is becoming more and more like House, and House sees himself in him. Including the walking issue.

First 2 seasons it really seemed like Foreman was on the way to being the next House but after they all quit/fired at end of season 3 I think Chase really started developing on his own.

For someone who started his career as a comedian Hugh Laurie is an incredible actor

There is definitely a disappointment in houses face when chase doesn't seem bothered by his apology. I think he was desperate for him to be angry.

8:43 The way House looks at Chase like he's a mirrored copy of himself, then admits he's the problem to Chase shows how much House cares for him and his fear of making an exact copy of his broken self. Not wanting Chase to see himself as another Broken House Clone, House walks away.

I love how Chase knows how hard it is for House to apologize so he doesn't make a big deal about it.

I thought it was funny how he unbuttons his jacket just to rub chase's foot with the stick.
