I started day 4 with the keynote by Hanah Margalit about post-translational regulation of bacterial RNAs. This was followed by an invited talk at HiTSeq by my former colleague Jan Korbel, who talked about how to use the single-cell technology Strand-seq to study genomic inversions and link this structural variation in the population to disease mechanisms [1,2]. I continued to CAMDA to hear a bit about the antibacterial resistance prediction challenge, before heading to RegSys. There I heard another excellent invited presentation by Laura Cantini on single-cell multi-omics integration, benchmarking of joint dimensionality reduction methods [3], and the new HuMMuS method for reconstruction of regulatory mechanisms [4]. I ended the day back at HiTSeq, where Mikaela Koutrouli from my own group presented a method for visualization of spatial omics data through color embedding, which you can hear more about in another YouTube video [5].
