Hi! You're right with some things, but there are tricks. First, the ticket and the cabin reservation is sold seperately; I usually find tickets for 29, 90 ("Sparschiene") and then share the room with my girlfriend. And I bring a picknick with me to have a great evening together :) One great advantage is that you start and end the journey in the middle of the city; i.e. Vienna - Venice is great that way, with plane you need appx 6 hours door to door; using the train, I need 20 mins to the Station in Vienna an 10 from the one in Venice to my hotel, by foot.

Hi,
i had a couple of nights on the ÖBB Nightjet and I would say the Sleeper is the best way to travel. But yes, it can be very expensive if you are booking shortly before travel date. Example: I booked Paris - Vienna two months ahead, sleeper with shower, 1 adult, 1 kid: 189 €.

The table, i hate those tables. Worst Siemens construction ever :-)

Ich find die couchettes sind eigentlich besser als die private Zimmer.

I'm gonna take a nightjet from Berlin to Vienna soon. Used to go by Flixbus but I'd love to have a bed when I do a night ride.

Thank you for the video.
Nightjet seems to be very popular, but I already heard some dispointed experiences.
In Switzerland price are expensive, but with hotel night public transit is normaly free, and to eat, store restaurants (Migros, Coop, Manor) are really good quality for reasonable price.
(Like Galleria / Karlstadt in Germany)

Ich hatte mit gerade ein Video von einem anderen Reisenden angesehen ei das Personal sehr freundlich war. Wenn das Personal unfreundlich ist ist es sehr schade und nervt sehr. Solche Leute findet man leider überall. Ich würde Nightjet dennoch gerne ausprobieren, weil ich mich echt für das Thema Bahn Interessiere.
Danke für dein Video. Es ist immer schön auch mal andere Perspektiven zu sehen.

Just watched your video and felt a bit sorry for this to be such a disappointing experience for you.
Probably travelling during or shortly after the pandemic made it even worse.
However, travelling in night trains within Europe can be pretty cost intensive if you don't book your Trip months ahead. Unfortunately the availability of Single Sleeper Cabins still is very limited on Zurich, Vienna, Paris oder Berlin bound trains.
Cheaper fares are rare and only the early bird catches the worm! 🤷
Unless you want to end up in a 6-Bed Couchette cabin, which I wouldn't recommend! 😖
I love night trains and book them whenever possible.
Should your future travel plans take you to Europe again, try out the night trains from Munich to Budapest or onto Bucharest - or check out the night trains that leave for south- or eastbound destinations from Frankfurt, Berlin, Paris or Amsterdam. Some of those have Restaurant-Cars and the food is yummie and affordable!
Greetings from Germany, Simone 🙋

Well, in Europe not everything is just about being "a good deal"....

Thank for real experience. My kid wants to try night jet. I don't have reasonable opinion to take one due to modern high speed train and cheap airline cost.
