I have watched four videos on this now and yours was the only one that went slow enough and with enough repetitions for me to follow. So thank you very much!

I’ve learned tubular cast on using two yarns but will try this method as it looks easier, thank you !

Now I get it. Thank you.
It really helps (phyically) starting with a slip knot, and I don't think other tutorials do this.
However, what is confusing (or has confused me up till now) is that in making the 'purl' stitch, the needle actually goes away from its position between the finger and thumb and first goes OVER the yarn around the index finger, away from the middle & THEN comes back UNDER the yarn and back to the middle.
Then, the needle, likewises, goes OVER the yarn around the thumb and away from the middle, before going UNDER the same yarn back to the middle AND UNDER the yarn on the index finger in one movement.
Has been confused by the the unders and overs?

Thanks for the terrific tutorial! I have a pattern that calls for a long tail cast on starting with a purl stitch, how do I create the initial stitch please?

Love it! Just have a little question: if you need a doble rib, but start with a 1-1 one, at the moment you increase the stitches, the very cast on will be actually smaller. How do you handle it? Many thanks for the teaching and the answer!!

This is such a wonderful tutorial! Thank you! It's so clear, well photographed and easy to follow. The key tip for me that makes this tutorial the easiest for me to get, and that keeps me on track with the overs and unders, is that finger/thumb Brilliant 😍

Very clear and easy to follow! Can you tell me if the two foundation (set-up) rows count as two of the single or double rib rows? They appear to add two rows to the 8 my pattern calls for before switching to garter stitch: I did the 8 and it appears that I have 10 total. Should I have only done 6 after the two foundation rows? Thank you!

So easy to understand. Thank you! If I wanted to make a twisted 1x1 rib, would I knit the first row of knits through the front loop instead of the back and then continue in the next rows to knit through the back loop to set up the twisted rib?
