Fry Tools [Engineering & Quoting Automation] (C#, Visual Studio, Inventor API, WinForms, JSON)

This internally developed suite of custom applications was built to streamline the door frame configuration, quoting, and engineering processes. The tool integrates with Autodesk Inventor and utilizes a user-friendly WinForms interface to automate workflows according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Key features include:

Door Frame Configuration & Quoting: Users can configure door frame quotes by inputting custom parameters. Based on these inputs, the tool generates a comprehensive bill of materials (BOM) and fully constrained 3D assemblies using Inventor API.

Engineering Parameter Generation: Automatically calculates and applies engineering parameters such as hinge placement, frame type, and material finishes based on the user’s selections.

File System & JSON Management: Stores product configurations as JSON files on the local system, enabling offline storage and later integration with a web API for scaling.
Product Description & Pricing: Dynamically generates product description strings and pricing for each line item in the quote, ensuring clarity and consistency across all outputs.

Integrated Application Suite: Contains a suite of applications that work together in sequence, following the SOP, with dialog alerts and user controls to guide the process.

The Fry Tools suite significantly optimized the quoting and engineering processes, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy in product configuration and pricing.
