Reminds me of Derrida's logocentrism. But I always thought there was profound wisdom in Socrates' contempt for writing: it messes with your memory, something quite important at least to Plato. Also reliance on artifacts (such as books) as a "third type" of memory enables civilization but also its downfall as artifacts can be lost or destroyed. There's a lot to logocentrism.
